Happy 3rd Birthday, Anna July 27, 2008

A PERFECT DAY!!!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Anna. I love you. You are my favorite Princess.
The best part of any birthday is sharing it with the people who love and adore you.

The Princess Cake. I haven't had chocolate cake on a Sunday with the family for a long time. Thanks, Lydia. You are amazing!

She learned to do it!

The opening of gifts!
She received Princess panties. She was excited. She thought they were socks.

Her favorite present came from her brother, Tommy. He picked this out at Toys R Us. He has a talent at knowing what girls like. Watch out Jeff and Lyd!This is the 15th change of clothes in the afternoon. I think she likes her new birthday clothes!

Oh good. What every girl wants--another Barbie. "Look, it's a Darbie!"Every birthday girl needs to clean the frosting from the beaters.

At the end of the day, Anna announced that tomorrow she was going to have another birthday. "I want a Hello Kitty birthday tomorrow."

Cover Girl aka Anna

While watching TV tonight our little princess came to show us how beautiful she is. Anna discovered Lydia's mascara. She was VERY proud of her new look.

Anna's shirt

I love Anna!

She loves clothes, especially PRINCESS SHIRTS. I think I bought everyone in Rochester and Idaho Falls that would fit her. Anna's favorites are the new light-up ones. She wore one of them to bed every night while visiting in Idaho Falls. The blinking light, however, kept Lydia awake. I don't think her mom likes or appreciates Grandma's taste in clothing!

Ansel Adams, I am not

I love to take pictures.
Even more I like to look at the pictures I have taken.
Most of all, I love the memories the pictures bring back to me.
Thought I would share:
Sunset in Istanbul, Turkey. Taken from my hotel room on our once-in-a-lifetime cruise to Greece.

Jon and I stayed in Ramona, CA. On one of the trips to San Diego I made him stop so I could take this picture. I wanted to use it as a story starter for my students. Never used it, but I love the memory of a great trip.

Jon finally took me (instead of his German exchange students) to Yellowstone one fall to hear the elk bugle at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone. I took this picture north of Jackson on our way back to Idaho Falls.

I will never forget the feeling of seeing the Nauvoo Temple on our trip back to the open house. Our ancestors helped build the original.

It is probably the subject matter more than the picture that I love in this classic. I think the smiles are as priceless at the boys wearing them!
